I am interested in whether, how, and why ecology shapes evolution (and evolution shapes ecology) through time, with an emphasis on microevolutionary pattern and process, adaptation, community dynamics, and field experiments. I currently work with Anolis lizards and threespine stickleback (Gasterosteus aculeatus).

I was a graduate student with Jonathan Losos at Harvard University from 2007-2013 and a post-doctoral researcher with Dan Bolnick at the University of Texas at Austin from 2013-2018. When Dan moved to the University of Connecticut in 2018, I took over as sole PI on Dan and my NSF grant, effectively starting the Stuart Lab Group in the Department of Integrative Biology at UT Austin.
